Microsoft Outlook XP/2002 for Windows XP

- How to configure an e-mail account.

1. To open Microsoft Outlook for Windows XP

Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Microsoft Outlook XP. This is the default location where Microsoft Outlook XP is found. The program will open.

2. In Microsoft Outlook, click on the Tools menu, (this can be found on the top left hand corner between Favorites and Actions)

3. Click choose E-mail Accounts as below.

4. Click on Add (which is located on the right hand side of the screen).

5. Select add a new e-mail account then click Next.

6. On the Server Type screen click POP3, and then click Next.

7. On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) screen, enter the following details.

a) Enter your first and last name in the Your Name field (not provided by Perfect Online Solutions).

b) Enter your email address in the E-Mail Address field (provided by Perfect Online Solutions).

c) In the Incoming mail server (POP3), enter the Incoming mail server (POP3) address provided by Perfect Online Solutions.

d) Once you have entered your Incoming mail server, you also need to enter the Outgoing mail (SMPT) server. There are two common possibilities of doing that.

a) If Outgoing mail (SMPT) server details are provided by Perfect Online Solution: You just need to enter it in the text box for Outgoing mail (SMPT) server.

b) If you are advised by Perfect Online Solution to use the Outgoing mail (SMPT) server provided by your local internet service provider. Please ask your internet service provider the name of your Outgoing mail (SMPT) and enter that in the text box for Outgoing mail (SMPT) server.

e) Enter your username (FULL email address) provided by Perfect Online Solutions in the User Name field.

f) Enter your password (case sensitive) provided by Perfect Online Solutions in the Password field.

g) Click Next once you have entered the Outgoing mail (SMPT) server.

Please Note: Undertake step 8 below, only in case you are advised by Perfect Online Solutions to authenticate yourself for your Outgoing mail (SMPT). Otherwise please skip this step.

8. In the Internet E-mail Settings (pop3) click the button More Settings

a) On the new pop screen select the Outgoing Server tab.

b). Place a tick in 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' (do this by clicking in the square in front of the writing).

c). Select Use same settings as incoming mail server.

d) Then click OK
